Hello! I'm Dr. Laura Verga, owner and CEO of Aligned Bookkeeping. I've been a chiropractor for almost two decades. Several years ago, I stepped away from clinical practice and stepped into the role of stay-at-home mom to my two kids. So how in the world did I end up in virtual bookkeeping???
When I opened my own chiropractic office in 2007, I built it from the ground up. I oversaw every aspect of its creation and success from initial start up to the final sale in 2014. At first, being on a shoestring budget, not only was I the sole practicing chiropractor, but I was also everything else the business needed as well. I did it ALL…budgeting, payroll, receptionist, marketing, advertising, sales, finances, insurance billing and posting, etc. As my practice grew, I was able to hire employees and delegate many tasks so I could focus on being the doctor.
The thing is, while I loved seeing patients get better through the power of chiropractic, I secretly LOVED the back office work too! Efficiency! Organization! Numbers! Stats! Finances!…I loved it ALL! I've been told I have a way with numbers and a keen attention to detail. I've always truly enjoyed helping people and solving problems. While staying at home with my kids has been rewarding and I'm eternally grateful for the opportunity, I started feeling very drawn to using my own experience to help other small business owners succeed.
I began Aligned Bookkeeping because I've been in your shoes. Accurate and up to date books directly reveal the financial health of your business.
